Those citizens that want to abolish the American oligarchic form of government should vote for the Green Party, and put Cynthia McKinney at the head of the ticket. That's the very least one can do; the real task is to create multiple people's movements that will force an end to imperial warfare - a prerequisite for all the other tasks that face humanity. But opposition to oligarchy operates in a state of invisibility in America. Corporate media, through whose bizarre, distorted lenses most people view their nation and world, can make the opposition disappear, in an instant. Remember Dennis Kucinich? Most people don't, thanks to private media corporations that stage-manage and slick-package cosmetic versions of U.S. public discourse and call it "democracy."

The following letter is now being circulated for signers in support of its message. The list of signers has now been updated through June 3rd. Follow the read more link below to learn more.

AN OPEN LETTER RE CYNTHIA MCKINNEY
TO OUR POLITICALLY CONSCIOUS
SISTERS AND BROTHERS OF BLACK AMERICA

For far too long Black America has been at the mercy of political pimps and usurpers, particularly of the Democratic Party. It is now the year 2008, and we in Black America, in conjunction with our Brown, Red, Yellow, and White sisters and brothers have a genuine and serious choice in order to build a true people's movement for real systemic change through the "Power to the People" campaign inspired by former U.S. Congresswoman Sister Cynthia McKinney.

Cynthia Mckinney has demonstrated that she wants, and is fighting for, real, systemic change; which is the only change that will address the health care, employment, judicial, and environmental needs of all people.

STEP UP TO THE PLATE NOW

Sister Cynthia is not a corporately sponsored clone like John McCain, Barack, or Hillary Clinton. She is The Real People's Candidate. Cynthia knows that her campaign is about building the opportunity for a different America; an America that supports and believes in itself and the peoples of the world in a very real sense.

i want to applaud you for your decades of advocacy and action for truth, justice, reparations, human rights, democracy and peace. As a union organizer in chicago, new york city and the bay area, WE always knew that you, as a member of congress, had our backs on issues from living wages to struggling against the oppressive “welfare reform” and “free trade” agreements. While a leader in our movements for self-determination and reparations, you consistently worked with us to build a powerful united front of Afrikan people (and
supporters) here in the u.c.p.s.a. and around our Diaspora to begin
challenging the imperialist governments and corporations which
accumulate(d) their unjust riches by super-exploiting the labor and land of enslaved and imprisoned workers. WE are all so proud that you stood tall and proud, even though mostly alone in the congress, in demanding the release of and amnesty for our hundreds of imprisoned and exiled Black Panther Party for Self-Defense, Republic of New Afrika, Black Liberation Army, American Indian Movement and Puerto Rican independence political leaders, and called for hearings on the repressive “counter intelligence (sic) programs” past and present. Having lost 155 members of the community/labor alliance that i led in new york, and another 12 members of our N’COBRA, it was you who rightfully and righteously called for a full examination of the role of the fascist regime of Cheney/Bush in the events leading up to, during and following 11 September 6241/2001. And, justice-loving people around the world were extremely encouraged that you introduced impeachment proceedings to expose the continuing crimes against humanity perpetrated by Cheney/Bush and corrupt republican and democratic party officials.

All that said, you have always inspired us. That is why WE have traveled down to georgia to work for your re-elections in past years; and are supporting your current candidacy. Your platform offers all of our movements—for reparations, freedom for political prisoners, workers’ rights, peace, true democracy, justice for the victims of the Cheney/Bush “hurricanes” and floods, immigrant rights, etc.—real hope and an alternative to the corporate republican and democratic parties.

Hello Cynthia and other members of the Green Party. I was "turned on" to you by Lynne Stewart and am enthusiastically adding my endorsement after seeing your youtube speech and reading the comments/opinions on your site. I am the head of the Grandmothers For Peace Franklin County, NY chapter and of Democracy For America and a political activist since 1965...a long and sometimes lonely road. I will be re-registering as a Green Party member asap, after being a "liberal" Democrat all this time. They've failed us once again and it's time to move on! Thanks for running. Jeanne Norris

Cynthia McKinney represents the new era of Green Party politics in America: diverse, principled and courageous. Her campaign for President of the United States has the potential to open the doors for people to become involved in the process like never before. The Green Party is blessed to have the best candidate we have ever seen seeking our nomination in Cynthia McKinney.

. . . only McKinney can restore pride to the USA

But I withdraw that endorsement as McKinney has a more solid platform, greater rhetorical skills coupled with intellectual capacity to fashion and push through workable solutions, and can restore financial and human rights credibility to the USA.

I supported Dennis Kucinich until he quit his presidential race and doing what i can to retain his seat in congress. The democrats have lost my support for their candidate and I want to support Cynthia for president since she has more progressive values than all the other candidates. My democrat friends are calling me a spoiler but I refuse to support Hillary or Barack for voting to fund an oil war and selling out to corporate greed.

You are the direction WE as Black folk need to go in. You've shown candid truth in the face of glamorous deceptions whether it be bush, the clintoons, or obama, many don't realize the sojourn into a ready-made ecnomic, social, and poliical pogrom that "established" politics have set them upon. The upside is that many Afrikan centered groups,(not old guard or "new guard" misled melting pot-ist), support you whole heartedly, I've donated to your other campaigns and will do the same again. Thank you for being a vanguard displaying what so many either lack, evade, or just dismiss as a passing fancy....

the TRUTH....

I had this letter published in the Western Washington University student newspaper...

I take issue with Anna Ellermeier's comment, quoted in the February 8th Western Front.

"You better vote" she says, referring to the next day's caucuses. But for who?

Neither of the remaining democratic presidential candidates stand for rapid and unconditional withdrawal from Iraq. And both have consistently voted in favor of appropriating funds to perpetuate the occupation. Both support international "trade" policies that entrench large corporations' stranglehold on our national economic (and political) life while wreaking havoc in "developing" countries. Neither supports a national, universal, single-payer, not-for-profit health care system. And not surprisingly, since both are recipients of huge amounts of money from the for-profit health-care industry.

In 2004, I participated in the democratic party caucuses because I could support Dennis Kucinich. But this year, I see no point. Rather, I will be spending my time, energy, and money supporting Cynthia McKinney's run for the Green Party's Presidential nomination, because I would rather struggle for something I want and not get it, than vote for something I don't want and get it.
